Our Heritage
GRAMI Caffé began as a dream Andreas always carried with him. Growing up in Greece, he spent countless hours with a freddo espresso in hand, dreaming of bringing that same experience to the place he now calls home—New York. With years of experience in cafés, hospitality, and a true love for a good cup of coffee, Andreas wanted to create something special here. Together with Monica, that dream came to life. Monica’s roots trace back to Nicaragua and Uruguay, where coffee was more than a drink, it was a tradition that brought families together. Childhood memories of traveling with her family, gathering around coffee, and sharing stories shaped her deep appreciation for its role in conversation and connection. At GRAMI, these stories and traditions come together. Greek, American, and Italian coffee culture form the heartbeat of what we do. When we opened our doors, our vision was clear: to build more than a café. We wanted to create a neighborhood hub, a welcoming place where every customer feels at home.
GRAMI is about more than great coffee and delicious food. It’s about people. Our team is family, and our customers quickly become part of that family too. Being rooted in Malverne and its surrounding communities brings us joy, and we are proud to give back through local events, partnerships, and causes close to our hearts. Even our name holds meaning. GRAMI stands for Greek, American, and Italian. Our logo reflects our family: the four olives represent each of us, and the bud represents what’s still to come. Our goal is to set roots here, to grow, and to create a lasting tradition of coffee, family, and friendship. Our journey has been one of hard work, late nights, and big dreams but it’s also been filled with laughter, friendships, and the reward of seeing a community gather around something we’ve built. From our very first cup poured to the countless conversations shared over lattes, cappuccinos, and pastries, we’ve been reminded why we started: to bring warmth, flavor, and connection to every person who walks through our doors.
